Colour
Mid to deep crimson red.
Aroma
Notes of salted plums, lavender, fresh blackberry, fresh jamón, wet earth and balsam.
Palate
Hits the palate with classic western Barossa generosity. Sweet and savoury notes intertwine and provide plenty of light and shade. Spicy plums, blue fruits and lavender dominate. Interesting notes of balsam and baking spices along with milk chocolate add depth and layers. Tannins are chewy in nature and run long on a very detailed and complex palate.
Wine Making
Several small parcels from the Coach House vineyard were crushed and de-stemmed into open top fermenters and pressed at the desired times, with an average time on skins of 12 days.
Maturation
18 months in 35% new French oak Hogsheads with the remainder aged in 1-6 year old French oak hogsheads.
